The Nishiki Koi Club offers an enjoyable diversity for any hobbyist. We have approximately 70 member families, with a wide range of knowledge and experience. Our club has many members who joined as early as the 70’s, plus newcomers. As a member, you get the advantage of having years of experience (mistakes and lessons) available to you, while at the same time; there are enough newer hobbyist members that you do not feel like you are the only one who is clueless on a subject. Our members have a variety of reasons for being a part of the koi world, whether it be enjoying the competition of showing their koi at local shows or creating their own special oasis in the backyard, to just learning how to maintain healthy koi. Our members range from pond quality “pets” up to show quality, and the ponds range from small homemade, up to large formal ponds and everything in between.

Many of our members have different levels of involvement in the hobby, including those who are going through the AKCA Judging program or are active members of the Associated Koi Clubs of America (AKCA) and Koi USA or very dedicated enthusiast always willing to help out a fellow hobbyist with a question and problems, and we even have the ones we see once a year.

Our goal is to provide a fun learning environment. We try to accomplish this through monthly newsletters with informative articles and a variety of speakers at our monthly meetings. But in general, I feel the most enjoyment and knowledge comes from belonging to a Koi Club and participating in meetings, events, and most of all, the fellowship. And of course, there are the benefits of having a network of other hobbyists during a problem time, or just to keep up on the latest products.

Anyway, I hope you will consider adding to your Koi enjoyment by joining the Nishiki Koi Club. Come by a meeting and meet some friendly people with the same interest. Welcome!!!!!

We feel the most valuable asset to any club is the members. To assist you in getting to know some of our members, so you may feel more comfortable attending that first meeting of knowing who to ask about different topics, we have added these short highlights to our web, just click on the name. Theses were started about a year ago to feature a different member in our monthly newsletter. When available we have added a picture too, so you can recognize them at a meeting.
