Today I was able to allocate enough time in orders to create a rough pond renderings using Photoshop. I still have to convince the wife to super size it. She thinks I want to build a zoo exhibit.

Before and after concept... I still need to find out what the setbacks from our property line should be. If I am not mistaken, I believe it is five-foot setback. The area where the eucalyptus trees once grew will be used to grow other trees or shrubs. The chain-linked fence is an eye sore that will be covered by a fast growing vine. As far as the tree(s) that will replace the eucalyptus trees, I am thinking of maple trees. The only headache I foresee is about 3-5 months of leaves (fall and early winter); however, I think I am willing to deal with the mess. I just love the color the maple tree leaves during fall.

Kitchen and family room view of the proposed pond area. The pond needs to be far away from the roof in order to avoid rain run-off. Since, the asphalt roof shingles are treated with chemicals, they are toxic to fish.

Here I show what the pond may look with red maples. I know they can grow very tall; therefore, I need to look into their root system.

Recap of the day... the images of the rock formations were taken from rock-n-water.com, since I will eventually purchase the cliff panels from them to create this feature.
