Today I received an email with images from one of our members...

Hi Caesar!

My name is Samantha Heatherly, and my husband is David Heatherly. Our family has six members total: Ellen, my Mother-in-Law; Bob, my Dad;Ashley (12) and Jason (10 1/2); and me & David.  We currently have 3 dogs, 2 rats, 5 koi outside in an emergency 500 gallon tank (we did it backwards too, lol!) and 1 koi inside in a large tank, who's in quarantine for anchor worm... We're members of the Nishiki Koi Club, but haven't had a chance to visit because
of my disability and our caregiving responsibilities.  If our life could calm down a bit, we could make it someday, or better yet, host a meeting here, provided members wouldn't mind traveling out of Orange County.  ; )

I was just going through your pages on pond construction, and saw that you are going to work with your city to be legal. I want to wish you luck as we're doing this with the city of Long Beach, and our inspector got even stricter when he came out for the final inspection!  Our builder is Jay Wang, and we think he's done a beautiful job so far; however, until we pass the final inspection, we have to wait for our pond to get "wet", so to speak!
Enclosed are some pics of our pond-to-be, and you are welcome to post them to the website if you like.  Anyway, when you are pulling the plans, be sure to really nail them down on EVERYTHING they require of you.  We're having to treat our pond as a swimming pool because it's 4 feet deep, so be sure to check how your city thinks in regards to a "swimming pool" for your koi! 8P

Good luck, and keep us posted with how it turns out!!!

Pond is done, and look how well Jay matched the colors of the River Mountain Cobblestone we picked out.  Can hardly wait for the pond to be fully up and running!  Then all we'll have to do is get the landscaping finished!

Recap of the day... Samantha Heatherly, thank you for allowing us to share your koi pond project with our viewers. More pictures of the ponds Jay (Samantha's Pond Builder) has built can be found at: wangshijye.com/gallery.asp
